Adv. Jeff Mashilo spent more than 20 years working in investigations, moving up from doing the actual work to managing teams. “In the past 15 years He progressed from an ordinary officer to senior management. Among others He also managed Counterintelligence Coordination. This role entailed working on joint operations with SAPS(various divisions), Defense Intelligence, SARS, DHA (Home Affairs), NPA, and other Organs of State (OOS) and private entities.

Coordination included serving as Secretariat for CICF (Counterintelligence Coordinating
Forum) Heads. Chairing Functional Committee Meetings. At some stage He chaired some
sectors of the SMF (Security Managers Forum).

In His career,   He become really good at investigations, planning strategically, managing people, talking to different groups of people, making sure things run smoothly, and handling contracts and agreements plus inter departmental joint investigations and projects.

He spent 11 years as an Adjudicator in an ad hoc capacity, of which five years was a Chairperson of the Panel / Board. The appointments into these capacities were done by various Ministers of SSA during their tenures. – In Adjudication He dealt with members’ grievances, members’ appeals and appeals by public servants who were denied security clearances.

Recognizing His experience and skills, He was asked to continue his work in a different board by the Minister in charge of security in 2020. Until His resignation in 2023.
